From August 2011 to November 2018, Andrea Zappia was CEO of Sky Italia. He also served as member of the Board of Directors of Luxottica from April 2015 to April 2020.

Andrea Zappia, PhD, currently serves as a postdoctoral research fellow at Sapienza University of Rome. His research delves into the economic and social history of the Mediterranean from the 17th to the 19th centuries, with special attention to Early Modern Italy, Jewish communities, privateering, captivity, and the activities of consuls and missionaries in North Africa. He authorized articles for leading Italian academic journals and chapters to edited volumes. Among his books"Mercanti di uomini. Reti e intermediari per la liberazione dei captivi nel Mediterraneo" (Città del Silenzio, 2018) and "Il miraggio del Levante. Genova e gli ebrei nel Seicento" (Carocci, 2021; under translation for Brill). His actual research focuses on Jewish presence and circulation in 16th-18th centuries eastern Latium, as part of the PNRR project "Historical landscapes, traditions and cultural identities".
